Apparently the pain suffered by 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on Sunday wasn’t confined to his left knee.
Garoppolo is “heartbroken,” 49ers’ general manager John Lynch told Pro Football Talk’s Peter King. “His family’s heartbroken. You can see it in his eyes, in their eyes. It’s tough. Jimmy needs to play, and he wants to play.”
The 49ers were waiting Monday morning for an MRI to confirm the diagnosis that everyone in the organization fears: a tear of the ACL.
“All indications are that it’s torn,” Lynch told King. “Our [medical] guys say they’ve been wrong before and so they need to do the MRI, obviously.
