After being sidelined for two weeks with toe and shoulder injuries, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy appears on his way to returning for the team’s Week 4 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Purdy suffered the injuries in San Francisco’s Week 1 win over Seattle, and initial reports said he could miss as many as five weeks. But he’s progressed better than expected while the 49ers learned they have a capable backup option in veteran Mac Jones.
Jones played well in Purdy’s absence, notching four touchdowns to one interception, and winning both his starts for the undefeated 49ers.
