Is 49ers wide receiver Torrey Smith right when he states that he was open against the Seahawks?
A film review of Smith’s game on Oct. 23, reveals that Smith was absolutely correct when he said he was open when guarded by Seattle All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman. The 49ers lost 20-3, and Smith was targeted once on a short passing route in the second half which he dropped. That was his only catchable throw of the night.
He might have dropped that pass out of sheer frustration, after failing to get a pass thrown his way, particularly in the first half.
