Three years, they say, is the proper time to grade a NFL draft. Well, let’s get a jump on that by explaining what must go right for the 49ers’ to ace theirs this week:
1. Drain the draft
Let’s say three quarterbacks, four offensive tackles, and a couple defensive linemen then linebackers zoom off the board. The 49ers get their choice of wide receivers and cornerbacks, though it makes you wonder why they weren’t top-10 worthy.
2. The 31st flavor
Don’t repeat history at the No. 31 spot, where draft busts came in the form of Rashaun Woods (2004) and Reuben Foster (’17).
