The San Francisco 49ers did not make any roster moves on Saturday, which might bode well for Matt Breida’s availability on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. The team had until 1 p.m. PT on Saturday to promote somebody from the practice squad (or sign an outside player) for them to be available on Sunday. They could have chosen to promote running back Jeff Wilson, but did not.
Breida was listed as questionable with a knee injury, and he and Kyle Shanahan both said he was a game-time decision. The fact that Wilson was not promoted is not a lock for Breida being active on Sunday, but it is better than had they promoted Wilson.
