It's not all bad news on the Purdy front. In the Yahoo interview, he said his enormous bionic brace was off. And on the same interview circuit, he told Pro Football Talk, “Everyone’s on the same page, and everything’s going as planned.” The original plan after his elbow surgery has Purdy returning at some point in August or September, right as the season's starting. And Purdy was scheduled to report to the 49ers' offseason program Monday, which The Athletic took as “a tacit sign that his rehab is proceeding on schedule.”
Purdy had surgery last month for a gruesome elbow injury he suffered in January's NFC Championship Game.
