Jason Verrett, who only had a brief but disastrous appearance with the 49ers during an injury plagued 2019 season, is coming back to the team along with fellow cornerback Dontae Johnson.
The 49ers beefed up their cornerback depth by announcing Monday they’ve signed one-year deals with both of the team’s own unrestricted free agents.

The 28-year-old Verrett spent most of last season on injured reserve after making his 49ers debut in Week 3 against the Steelers. After being sidelined during training camp with an ankle injury, Verrett struggled badly during his 14 snaps of action against the Steelers.
