Hawkins originally entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free-agent in 2014 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was later waived by the Eagles only to be picked up by the Cleveland Browns two days later before being waived again five days later and picked up by the Dallas Cowboys.
Hawkins eventually solidified his spot on the Miami Dolphins practice squad this season before being released on Nov.
