When the San Francisco 49ers signed Jonathan Brown, it was seen as an obvious camp body. Robbie Gould will be back and this no-name kicker that played for Louisville will be out before Week 1.

Well, that’s not so much the case anymore. Brown is still a long-shot to make the roster. There are better names available in free agency and Brown doesn’t have a single stat to his name.

With Gould’s status in question, Brown at least now has an opportunity, no matter how small that may be.
