It’s not quite the real thing. But it certainly will be refreshing to watch San Francisco 49ers football again here soon.
This, of course, will happen when Week 1 of the NFL preseason kicks off this weekend. The Niners get to host their longtime rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Levi’s Stadium in what will look like a football game, but it won’t feature many of either teams’ top players.
Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has already been ruled out of the contest by head coach Kyle Shanahan. Edge rusher Dee Ford, who has been dealing with a minor knee issue, probably won’t play either.
