Less than 24 hours after the San Francisco 49ers were forced to trim their roster down to the 53-man limit, the Niners — along with all NFL teams — will be able to sign available non-veteran players to their 10-man practice squad.
The 49ers can begin to fill their practice squad as soon as the NFL distributes a list of all available players, known as a “Personnel Notice,” once teams submit final waiver claims for any available non-veterans they intend to promote to their respective active rosters. Per NFL Football Operations, the league is scheduled to release the Personnel Notice at approximately 1 p.
