Trades, especially the blockbuster ones, are rare at the NFL level. Yet teams like the San Francisco 49ers aren’t strangers to the idea of improving their roster either now or by stockpiling additional NFL Draft picks down the line.
Case in point, general manager John Lynch already moved center Daniel Kilgore to the Miami Dolphins and right tackle Trent Brown to the New England Patriots this offseason.
The Niners will have to whittle their 90-man offseason roster down to 53 players by the start of Week 1. Most players will be cut.
