San Francisco 14, Arizona 6: Halftime Quick Hitters

Close, But Not Close Enough

On several plays, the Cardinals pass rush broke through into the backfield to bring down Colin Kaepernick...but ended up letting him escape. Those drives eventually turned into points for San Francisco, and the Cardinals need to wrap up and make plays if they want to get back into this one.

Carlos Hyde Stakes His Claim

Frank Gore isn't going anywhere yet, but when he eventually decided to hang up his cleats, the Niners are going to be just fine. Rookie Carlos Hyde continues to impress in limited action, and his second TD of the season - on a punishing sweep to the outside - put the Niners up 14-6.

MISSING: Arizona's Ground Game

This was supposed to be Andre Ellington's breakout year, and it looked like he was back on track with last week's 91-yard performance against the Giants. Ellington's first half against the Niners? Seven carries for a whopping 25 yards. The rest of the backfield didn't do much better, and the Cards gained just 46 total rushing yards for a 3.8 yards per carry average.

49ers Keep It Rolling

The 49ers were efficient at extending drives, and ended the half 5 for 7 on third down conversions. After getting stymied in the second half by Chicago's defense last week, it'll be vital for the Niners to stay focused after the break.
