The San Francisco 49ers have quite a few decisions to make as we approach the NFL Free Agency and the 2020 NFL Draft. According to the latest 49ers rumors, the Niners could be interested in trading for Stefon Diggs. Emmanuel Sanders will become a free agent in March and Diggs hasn’t shied away from vocalizing his frustration with the Minnesota Vikings. 49ers Report host Thomas Mott discusses a possible Diggs trade, Darius Slay rumors and Peter King’s suggestion to trade back as a way of adding draft picks.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the 49ers have pick #21 and then they aren’t on the clock again until the 5th round. The 49ers have two fifth-round picks, a sixth rounder and two in the seventh round as well. NBC Sports’ Peter King suggested the Niners follow in the footsteps of the 2019 Seattle Seahawks and trade back into later rounds as a means of acquiring more middle-round picks. Despite the 49ers having a very successful season, adding depth is always a necessity, especially when it comes to San Francisco’s defense.

Stefon Diggs trade rumors went flying off the rails when Diggs wiped his Instagram page of all Vikings photos. Minnesota’s 1,000-yard receiver is clearly keeping everyone on their toes, however, is a trade with the 49ers even possible? Diggs is under contract through 2024 and is set to make just shy of $11 million this upcoming year. Coupled with his success last season, it’s unlikely that Minnesota trade Diggs but it’s at least worth a phone call.
49ers trade rumors also mention Darius Slay. According to reports, the Detroit Lions have spoken to multiple teams and the fit with the 49ers makes sense. With question marks at the CB position, Slay would come in and immediately boost a struggling secondary.
