49ers Free Agency News And Rumors Roundup: San Francisco Willing To Keep Kaepernick, Boldin Wants To Return

NFL Free Agency is officially here, and the next few days will feature at least a few San Francisco 49ers rumors. The 49ers have been fairly quite so far, but they can still make a move or two. With that in mind, here are all of the interesting rumors and news tidbits on the 49ers

Colin Kaepernick Update
Kaepernick has been the subject of plenty of rumors this offseason and they might not stop for quite a bit. The 49ers have had discussions with the Jets, Browns and Broncos about a possible trade. The Browns and Broncos are the major players, but no one appears ready to budge, reports CSN Bay Area

"There’s a good chance he’s still on the team the way things look now," a source told CSNBayArea.com. The source said the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns or New York Jets -- teams currently without starting quarterbacks -- have not shown much urgency to acquire Kaepernick in a trade. The 49ers are holding tight in their trade demand, believed to be a second- or early third-round draft pick.

The Broncos are searching for a replacement for Brock Osweiler, with Mark Sanchez likely serving as the veteran backup when the team finds a younger QB. The Browns are still searching for a franchise QB. The 49ers will seemingly need to make a decision by April 1st, when Kaepernick's $11.9 million base salary becomes fully guaranteed. CSN Bay Area reports the team will not cut him and that are prepared for him to compete for the starting QB job.

If he's not traded, Kaepernick is expected to report to the 49ers for workouts on April 4th. ESPN reports the team will likely try to trade him before or during the NFL Draft. Essentially, it sounds like the Kaepernick rumors won't be dying down anytime soon.

Anquan Boldin Wants To Return
WR Anquan Boldin is entering the final few years of his NFL career, leading many to assume he'll leave the 49ers and try to chase a Super Bowl. However, Boldin says he would love to stay with the 49ers.

"That would be my hope," Boldin said, according to SB Nation. "I love it here, I love the fans here, I love the organization, teammates. And when I say organization, it's not just the football part. Like there's a lot of people inside the organization that the outside people never know about, that help us out so much. So those are the relationships I've built here in San Francisco that I don't want to leave. So I would love to stay here."

Boldin's market thus far has been fairly quiet. Boldin is 35 years old, and likely doesn't have many years left. The 49ers could also prefer to keep a younger player instead of Boldin. Boldin was the team's top WR last season.

49ers Interested In Courtney Upshaw?
The 49ers are in need of pass rushing help, especially with Ahmed Brooks on the decline and aging. That could make the 49ers players for Courtney Upshaw, reports Pro Football Talk. Upshaw hasn't been that great for the Ravens, but he did start 15 games this year and 55 in his four-year NFL career. Upshaw is a former second round pick with five career sacks.

49ers Land Zane Beadles
After losing OG Alex Boone to the Vikings, the 49ers have found his replacement.

Beadles was cut the Jaguars earlier this offseason, but this is a fair deal for him. He wasn't great for the Jaguars, but he's likely the 49ers' second-best guard behind Andrew Tiller. The Niners could easily start Beadles next year.
