49ers News: Vernon Davis says "no thanks" to "Dancing With the Stars"

Here's a fun bit of 49ers news for the end of your weekend -- one of the San Francisco 49ers biggest red-zone threat wants to save his dancing for the end zone.

Per Pro Football Talk by way of Pro Sports Daily, San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis reportedly said "no thanks" to the chance of being included in ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

“I got an offer to do Dancing With the Stars this year but couldn’t, even though it was a beautiful opportunity,” Davis stated to Robert Klemko of TheMMQB.com. “I have a feel for [the demands] now. I know what could be too much for me.”

Pro Football Talk took a decidedly different angle on why they think the San Francisco 49ers' two-time NFL Pro Bowler really decided to decline said offer --

"A potential factor in assessing the opportunity may have been his obligation to Fantex, which has purchased 10 percent of his future earnings for $4 million. If any money earned on Dancing With The Stars would have been subject to the Fantex arrangement, the ultimate assessment of the offer surely would have taken into account the reality that 10 percent of the compensation would have been forfeited."

You can read more on Fantex here, and what the possible ramifications that the new real-life fantasy sports exchange are for decisions like the one Vernon Davis just made.
