In another edition of 49ers news surrounding the Aldon Smith saga, a police officer on the scene of Smith's incident at LAX International Airport on Sunday believes that Smith may have been intoxicated at some point during the day.
Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk (by way of information obtained from Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area), an LAX Police Sgt. Karla Ortiz was there for Aldon Smith's outburst, and had this to say --
“He was not what we considered to be intoxicated,” Ortiz told Maiocco. “But he appeared as if he had been drinking earlier in the day."
Earlier in the day, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com broke the story that Aldon Smith screamed that he had a bomb prior to be detained by LAX Police. No blood-alcohol test was given, but there are many close to the situation that are rightfully worried about Smith's mental state -- given the circumstances of Smith's prior rehab for substance-abuse.
