SAN DIEGO -- Olin Carter III scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half and San Diego hit all of its eight free-throw attempts in the final two minutes to beat Long Beach State 74-70 on Saturday night.
Isaiah Pineiro and Tyler Williams added 17 points apiece and Isaiah Wright had 11 points and six assists for San Diego. Williams hit 5 of 8 from 3-point range and Pineiro grabbed nine rebounds.
Carter scored the first nine points before Williams hit back-to-back 3s to cap a 15-0 run that gave San Diego (6-2) a 10-point lead -- the biggest by either team -- with 11:41 to play.
