The UCSD Tritons (19-10, 3-3) spoiled the Aztec water polo senior night, defeating SDSU (12-15, 4-3) 13-8 in front of a packed Aztec Aquaplex on Saturday evening.
Before the game, the Aztecs honored their eight seniors Grace Halliday, Raquel de Pinho, Zoe Morgan, Delaney Binette, Lucia Carballo, Spencer Samuel, Sydney Hurst and Karli Canale before tipping off against crosstown rival UCSD.
Both SDSU and UCSD traded early saves to start the game before Canale found the back of the net with a perfectly placed floater over the UCSD goalie with 5:30 remaining in the quarter to get the scoring going.
