In an electrifying game at Viejas Arena, the San Diego State women’s basketball team rallied for a 77-76 win over the Toreros from the University of San Diego.
Under the high-powered offense from head coach Stacie Terry, the Aztecs came away with the go-ahead layup by senior guard McKynzie Fort, which marked the first victory over USD in the past four seasons.
After taking a short hiatus from 1997-2001, the two teams have played each other in each season dating to 2002. After the SDSU win tonight, the Aztecs take a 29-12 record in the crosstown rivalry.
