Bogaerts broke a scoreless game in the top of the second with a solo home run to left-center field to put the San Diego Padres in front of the Los Angeles Dodgers, 1-0. That home run sparked the Padres offense as they avoided the sweep at the hands of the Dodgers with a 5-2 win.
