TORONTO — Perhaps the two Padres likeliest to be traded, outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. and right-hander Andrew Cashner were still with the team for Monday's series opener at Rogers Centre.
There continued to be plenty of indications that they could be moved before the series is over.
With the host Blue Jays among the suitors for both players, Upton was out of the lineup for a second consecutive game, though manager Andy Green noted it was not for health reasons. Cashner, meanwhile, was scheduled to start Tuesday, but rival clubs are skeptical the Padres would take a risk so close to the Aug.
