This month, the San Diego Padres are 15-9 (.625) in the standings. Even though the Friars were swept by the Dodgers in August, they have done a tremendous joub keeping with their rival in the NL West standings.
San Diego has a strong team right now; there's no doubting that. While mainstays Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. have been playing well, much of the Padres' recent success is thanks to their newest additions. Whether it was Ramon Laureano belting a walk-off, or Ryan O'Hearn coming up clutch despite not getting everyday reps, this new-look Padres team has some wagger, and these players know it.
