Outfielder Nick Torres headlines four San Antonio Missions invited to the 80th Annual Texas League All-Star Game, the league announced Tuesday.
Shortstop Jose Rondon and right-handed relievers Adam Cimber and Jason Jester are also representing the Padres’ Double-A affiliate.
A fourth-round pick in 2014 out of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Torres recently ran a season-high hitting streak to 13 games. He is hitting .304/.338/.473 with five homers, 26 RBIs and 5 steals in 57 games. The 22-year-old leads the Texas League with 19 doubles, is second in average and hits (68) and tied for third with 26 extra-base hits.
