Talking with ... Padres reliever Adam Warren

Adam Warren will be on familiar ground when he wakes up Monday morning in New York City. The North Carolina native spent the first four years of his big league career in the Bronx bouncing between the Yankees’ bullpen and the rotation.

Union-Tribune: Given your upbringing, what was playing in New York like for you?

Warren: It was definitely a culture shock. I’m more of a laid-back type, slow-paced. You get there and everything is moving a little faster. If you aren’t moving faster you’ll get run over. But I actually really grew to love the city.
