Before today’s Spring Training matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres’ manager Andy Green had some eyebrow-raising comments regarding his team’s expectations for their upcoming season.
After the Padres signed Eric Hosmer to his eight-year, $144 million deal, it was clear this team was greatly improved on both sides of the chalk. With a young core in place and a veteran leader now present in the clubhouse as well, morale around the organization as well as the fanbase is understandably high, and rightly so.
