Injuries dampened the mood of the San Diego Padres after snapping their six-game losing streak. However, the team received good news on one of their mending starting pitchers. Yu Darvish has begun a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso. He threw four innings in a mid-week start against Las Vegas.
It was only one start though, as he’s now back in San Diego.
The hope is Darvish will pitch again relatively soon. But before the Padres pencil in his season debut, the organization cannot rush him back on the mound without being certain Darvish is injury-free.
