Per an official announcement by the San Diego Padres, the team has made a number of moves to bring their roster total down to 40 names.
LHP Clayton Richard, outfielder Franchy Cordero, and RHP Dinelson Lamet were all removed from the disabled list and added to the 40-man roster, while reliever Kazuhisa Makita has been designated for assignment. Outfielder Alex Dickerson was also reinstated from the disabled list, however, Dickerson has elected for free agency.
None of these moves are very surprising. Dickerson has not appeared in a major league game since 2016 when he hit 10 home runs in 84 games for the Padres.
