The San Diego Padres dropped a one-run game to the Miami Marlins for the second time in as many days with a 3-2 loss at loanDepot Park, Wednesday.
Dylan Cease, who has shown flashes of returning to his ace-like form recently, pitched well against the Marlins, but allowed a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning that proved to be the difference in the game.
Cease allowed a two-out single in the bottom of the first inning that plated the first run for Miami. He walked the first two batters of the game, but then recorded back-to-back strikeouts.
