Padres win-streak snapped by Cardinals

Randy Vasquez started on the mound for the San Diego Padres and worked three scoreless innings to start the game. He came to the mound in the top of the fourth inning with a 4-0 lead, but the St. Louis Cardinals scored four runs on four hits, which included a three-run home run by Pedro Pages that helped St. Louis make the score 4-4 after the top half of the fourth.

The Cardinals added four more runs in two of the next five innings to take an 8-4 win over the Padres at Petco Park, Saturday.

Vasquez was able to get out of the fourth and returned to the mound in the top of the fifth inning.
