The San Diego Padres scored early to put the pressure on the Colorado Rockies and added two innings of four runs or more en route to a 13-9 win at Coors Field, Friday.
The Padres offense jumped on Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela in the first inning. San Diego recorded four hits in the inning and sent Randy Vasquez to the mound with a 1-0 lead. Vasquez responded with three quick outs.
The Padres were held without a run in the second inning, but struck again in the third. Two runners were on when Jackson Merrill hit an RBI-double to give San Diego a two-run lead.
