For the second night in a row, the San Diego Padres bullpen could not keep the New York Yankees from scoring and earning a win.
The Padres took a 3-1 lead into the eighth inning and Jason Adam allowed a game-tying two-run home run to Trent Grisham to make the score, 3-3. Neither side plated a run in the ninth and the game went to extra innings.
San Diego started the top of the 10th inning with Brandon Lockridge at second base. Facing New York reliever Devin Williams, Fernando Tatis Jr. struck out swinging for the first out of the inning.
