All things told, Chris Paddack was pretty good against the Cincinnati Reds. He threw 6 innings, gave up 3 earned runs, and walked only 1 while striking out 5.
The day would’ve been a lot better had he avoided making two mistakes. The first one was on the third pitch of the game, an 0-2 fastball that caught way too much of the plate for Joey Votto.
There were no more runs scored between that and the 5th inning, when Tucker Barnhart sat all over a first-pitch fastball down the center of the strike zone:
Again, not a bad outing for Paddack.
