Padres simmer down in 3-1 loss to Dodgers

After a convincing win over the Dodgers on Monday night, the Padres’ bats were a bit quieter on Tuesday afternoon as the Padres lost a close, low-scoring game 3-1 to the Dodgers at Petco Park.

Starting pitcher Zach Davies lost his first game in his last six starts and a rough beginning to this one, allowing five hits and a pair of runs through the first three innings.

Staring at an early 2-0 deficit thanks to a pair of RBI singles from both DH Justin Turner and 1B Cory Bellinger, the Padres were able to close the gap with a reach on an infield bunt by Trent Grisham to bring the score to 2-1.
