Bryce Johnson stepped to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning with runners at first and second with no outs and the San Diego Padres leading the New York Mets, 2-1.
Johnson tried to get a sacrifice bunt down to move the runners to second and third, but he was unable to do so, and eventually struck out on a check swing for the first out of the inning. Johnson walked away from the plate frustrated with the at-bat, but it gave Elias Diaz an opportunity to come through with a big hit for the second consecutive night.
