Padres rebound with 4-3 victory over Mets in Game 1

Fernando Tatis Jr. returned to the lineup on Thursday night and immediately made the Mets wish he would’ve given his injury another day. In the bottom of the third, Tatis struck a deep ball in centerfield which bounced off the glove of Mason Williams for a two-run homer that began a streak of four-straight runs that helped elevate San Diego over New York by a score of 4-3 in Petco Park.

Yu Darvish had a solid night on the mound heading into the sixth inning with five strikeouts, one walk, and three hits allowed.
