Craig Stammen was on his way to Petco Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Garrett Richards and Zach Davies played catch earlier in the day at a park near their Arizona homes.
Matt Strahm had lumber in the back of his truck as he drove away from Home Depot.
“I Googled blue prints for a portable pitching mound,” he said. “I’m going to make my own mound.”
Strahm is not entirely sure where his makeshift bullpen will be configured, but he knows he has 60 feet, six inches somewhere in the backyard of his Phoenix-area home.
“We might be throwing a bullpen over the pool,” he said, referring to his brother, Ben, a minor league pitcher.
