Jake Cronenworth generally carries five to six gloves with him wherever he goes. One for shortstop and one for second, although he’s starting to use the same glove for both spots. He has another for third base, one for the outfield and different ones he uses when he pitches.
Of course, he was not exactly expecting to make his major league debut in the field at first base Sunday afternoon. So Cronenworth borrowed Ty France’s first base glove. The one Cronenworth used at the University of Michigan is somewhere in a box in his room back home.
