We had a pair of Padres reach some pretty impressive feats over the past few days, as third baseman Manny Machado and first baseman Luis Arráez reached personal milestones.
Machado collected his 1,000th hit as a member of the Padres organization, reaching the mark during Saturday’s road game against the Minnesota Twins, in which they won 12–3. The milestone was reached in the sixth inning when Machado laced a base hit that got past the glove of a diving Brooks Lee at shortstop and into left field. He joined Tony Gwynn, Garry Templeton, and Dave Winfield as the only Padres to record 1,000 hits with the club.
