The last two years, Padres fans have had to pack their bags for Peoria, Ariz. to get their first look at A.J. Preller’s prized acquisitions. The fruits of this offseason aren’t nearly as sexy as doling out franchise-record contracts to Eric Hosmer and Manny Machado, but a handful of the newest Padres are expected to make their organizational debuts this weekend at FanFest.
Drew Pomeranz will reintroduce himself to San Diego as a high-priced reliever Saturday at Petco Park. New arrivals Zach Davies and Trent Grisham will also don Padres uniforms for the first time, while highly-regarded pitching prospect Luis Patino will participate in his first FanFest as he pushes toward his big league debut.
