There are two things that get under Manny Machado's skin. One, is when reporters reference a team as having a "hot" streak. The other is the word "urgency." Granted, these pet peeves of Machado's were not callously spewed into reporters' iPhone voice memos but provoked. In an interview with MartyTimeTV, Machado fielded questions until the word "urgency" was thrust upon him by an unassuming reporter.
The beginning of the interview began cordial with normal postseason banter. Machado, after being praised the entire season for his veteran presence, sounded more like a manager or pitcher when emphasizing the keys to winning in Chicago.
