Padres held scoreless for second consecutive game

For the second time in three days the San Diego Padres were kept off the scoreboard by an opposing starting pitcher. Shane Baz completed seven innings against the Padres and helped the Tampa Bay Rays earn a 1-0 win at Petco Park, Friday.

Baz used a combination of fastballs and his knuckle curve to keep San Diego hitters off balance all game. The Padres did not record a hit until the bottom of the third inning. Tyler Wade singled with two outs and was able to reach third base when Fernando Tatis Jr. followed with a single of his own.
