Padres have no choice but to demote Jeremiah Estrada from bullpen role

Related Topics: Jeremiah Estrada

The San Diego Padres have a knack for developing quality bullpen arms from their minor league system. In 2024, Jeremiah Estrada looked the part, as he posted a dazzling 2.95 ERA in 61.0 innings pitched. Estrada struck out 94 batters and thrived in shutting down the opposition in close games.

But that magic has disappeared this season, especially in his appearances against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In two outings, Estrada has given up seven runs on seven hits in two-thirds of an inning pitched. The momentum of playing in a highly-contested game vanished in the blink of an eye.
