Padres fans all saw this coming. It was just a matter of time before Leo De Vries got acclimated to his new team and started going on a tear at the plate. De Vries, who was the Padres' top prospect, was traded before the deadline as part of a blockbuster deal that saw San Diego acquire reliever Mason Miller.
De Vries began his tenure within the Athletics' minor league system ice cold, batting .182 with no home runs and 14 strikeouts in his first 12 games. Since then, he pieced together a few monster games, which was enough for the Athletics to promote him from High-A to Double-A, all at just 18 years old.
