Padres continue to play Myers conundrum

Wil Myers chuckled and began talking, chuckled again and began talking again. Then he paused.

Finally, he offered this assessment.

“It’s been a wild season, man.”

And it could have been left at that. Except it’s been so wild and has such ramifications for the Padres that it requires more.

Myers is perhaps the Padres’ biggest conundrum — one of their most-talented players who depending on the day is one of their best or one of their worst players and who is about to make serious enough money that the disparity matters.

“Wil is the most athletic guy in the clubhouse,” first base coach Skip Schumaker said.
