Among all the chaos and murkiness surrounding the MLB and their attempts at striking a new financial agreement with the Players Union, the Padres are forging their own path. Right now, they are currently the only team in the MLB that is committed to playing their minor league players through August while also promising no furloughs or layoffs from now through the end of October for their baseball staff, per Kyle Glaser of Baseball America.
For the sake of those struggling the most due to the coronavirus pandemic, I truly hope they are not the only team to do this for much longer.
