Minors: Padres’ farm system still rated highly with help from 2020 draft class

Unless they make their MLB debut during this strange 2020 season, the Padres’ top prospects won’t play another real game until next spring. A couple have done just that (Luis Patiño and Jake Cronenworth) and a couple more (MacKenzie Gore and Taylor Trammell) could make their way to Petco Park soon. A COVID-19-shortened draft also added a handful of new players to the system.

No, Baseball America doesn’t have a ton to go on but they’ve submitted their midseason (what season?) updated farm rankings anyway. The folks at MLB Pipeline have also updated their top-100 prospect and organizational rankings based largely on graduations and the 2020 draft class.
