Double-A Amarillo will be well-represented in the Texas League All-Star Game in the Sod Poodles’ inaugural season.
Shortstop Owen Miller, who leads the Texas League with 74 hits, leads a contingent of seven Sod Poodles selected to the June 25 showcase. Additionally, Amarillo manager Phillip Wellman and his coaching staff will run the South Division team in Tulsa, Okla., as champions of that division last year.
Joining Miller on the team are catcher Luis Torrens, second baseman Ivan Castillo, right fielder Edward Olivares, utility man Kyle Overstreet, right-hander Emmanuel Ramirez and left-hander Travis Radke.
