Minors: MacKenzie Gore healthy, himself, in rhythm with Storm

SAN BERNARDINO —

The pitchers in Lake Elsinore’s clubhouse have a saying: Be where your feet are.

MacKenzie Gore has no problem walking that talk.

Twice, a bothersome blister on his left middle finger interrupted the start to his first full professional season. A third occurrence shut him down for good last August. The season that was supposed to get Gore started on his path to San Diego ended with just over 60 innings on his resume.

Ten months later, even with Gore seemingly again loaded onto the fast track, the 20-year-old left-hander is more than content to revel in the day-to-day grind that made him the third overall prospect in the country to begin with.
