He has a ways to go to play himself into the Padres’ long-term plans at catcher, where Francisco Mejia and Austin Hedges are competing for playing time in the majors, Austin Allen continues to swing a big bat at Triple-A El Paso and Luis Campusano emerged as one of the better prospects in A-ball.
Consider 2019 a tremendous start.
